What are the three (3) Ghana 2024 WASSCE English Language Essay Topics to consider?
Official letters
Official letters have become important to all of us. For instance, WASSCE graduates will have to write some form of official letter, such as those seeking jobs or scholarships after their WASSCE. WAEC may not favor these reasons, but a formal letter question is likely to appear in the 2024 WASSCE (SC) with a 90% probability.
Formal letters are simple to write if you understand the requirements or features of such a letter and follow it religiously in the examination hall. Between now and the start of the exam, solve at least four different formal letter questions under examination conditions before the exam.
What are the characteristics of a formal letter to master before the exam?
Note that all formal letters, whether they are addressed to a government official, for employment, for pursuing a scholarship, or to the editor of a newspaper, contain all the following features:
- Writer’s Address (Master the address writing and apply it in all write-ups that demand it.)
- Date
- Recipient’s Address (Master the address writing and apply it in all write-ups that demand it.)
- Salutation
- Heading (in capital letters, underlined and centred)
- Introduction of the letter (Indicate why you are writing). No need for greetings and pleasantries since it is not an informal letter.
- The main body of the letter (here) responds to the main reason for writing the letter. Often three points with each in one paragraph is enough unless the question demands a certain number of facts or points to be explained.
- Concluding paragraph that should close the essay.
- Subscription (e.g., Yours faithfully) This should be followed by your signature, then your full name, followed by your position, if any.
An example of a good subscription is below.
Yours faithfully,
