Dr Chioma Awuzie Foundation Offers Scholarship To 17 Anambra Undergraduates From Selected Tertiary Institutions In Anambra State.
A non-governmental organization (NGO), Dr Chioma Awuzie Foundation (DCAF), offers scholarship to 17 Anambra undergraduates who are needy and can’t afford their tuitions.
The foundation also offered these students’ food items and other gifts which are worth over 10 million Naira. These were offered to the undergraduates and other needy students in the state. This initiative was done as part of the foundation’s 2024 edition of scholarship awards and charity.
The ceremony was held at the auditorium of the Federal Polytechnic Oko in Anambra State. The founder and chairman of the foundation, Dr Chioma Awuzie revealed the plans of the foundation to extend their initiative across Nigeria and to other needy students.
Dr Chioma Awuzie said, “DCAF has continued to champion enhanced access to higher education, access to healthcare delivery via medical outreach, and community support, benefiting indigent students, pregnant women, widows, the needy, the elderly, inmates of correctional centers, youth, and women across our society.
“Today, DCAF, in commemoration of my 51st birthday anniversary , will award one-off scholarships to 17 selected indigent students from public tertiary education institutions in Anambra State and celebrate the collective impact of our charitable endeavours.”
According to her the foundation had touched the lives of many inncluding medical and health support. The foundation was established in 2021 with the focal vision of forming a platfom that lifts the youth, uplifts and inspire women and support the needy in the society.
“DCAF was set up to encourage and support an egalitarian society that works towards enhancing the standard of living for the underprivileged, creating greater access to higher education and accelerating women and youth investment for poverty reduction in Nigeria.
“To our esteemed beneficiaries, I extend my heartfelt congratulations. Your hard work, dedication and resilience have brought you here, and we are immensely proud to support your academic journey.
“You are the future leaders and innovators, and we have full confidence in your ability and commitment to make a positive difference in the world.
“Our targets for the future are ambitious but achievable with your continued support. Our goal is to create sustainable change that uplifts individuals and transforms communities.’’
“I encourage everyone to embrace the spirit of giving and to continue supporting initiatives that foster education, empowerment, and community development. Let us work together to create a society where every individual has the opportunity to realize their full potentials.”
Dr Uche Onyegbu praised Dr Awuzie and her foundation upon the lives they have touched, and deemed it to be a special gift from God to humanity. He further prayed for long life with good health for Dr Chioma Awuzie.
He urged other well-off people to learn from Dr Awuzie and her foundation. They should also help the lesss priveleged and advised the beneficiaries to take advantage of the oppurtunity they’ve been given.
